When You Cleanse the Bowel, Constipation Problems
Decrease
Although a blocked bowel and constipation problems are not always related,
this tends to be the case most of the time. There are times when dietary
issues (like too much calcium or not enough fiber) are the cause of the
constipation but this is almost always a factor to some degree. However,
when a bowel movement is delayed by two or more days, there is generally
a blockage of some kind in the bowel and constipation problems result.
The common symptoms of constipation include:
Infrequent bowel movements--sometime
2-3 days past a normal
evacuation
. Difficulty passing stool
. Pain when passing stool
. Small or lumpy stool
. Abdominal pain
. Lower back pain
So long as the constipation goes away within
a few days and normal bowel movements return, there is usually
no long term damage done to your health.
If the symptoms persist for more than 3 or 4 days,
then a fecal impaction or other issue may be involved that requires
a health care professionals attention. When your body cannot evacuate
waste, the bacteria and toxins within your stool begin to
accumulate and may be released into the bloodstream. Chronic constipation
has been associated with increased risk for a number of major
medical problems, including colon cancer.
Although constipation
problems can cause serious medical problems when left untreated,
fortunately they can be prevented. Some of the most effective
steps that you can take to avoid constipation symptoms in the future
are:
. Eat a diet that is rich in dietary fiber and antioxidants
. Avoid processed foods, refined sugars, additives, caffeine,
alcohol,
and any stimulants
. Drink plenty of water (1/2-2/3 ounce of water for every pound
of
body weight)
. Remove excess waste from gastrointestinal tract (colon cleanse)
. Exercize (walking is great)
In many cases, severe constipation
problems do not suddenly appear overnight. Frequent bouts with
short-term constipation could signal that your gastrointestinal
tract is becoming clogged and causing mild fecal impactions
to occur. Any blockage within the gastrointestinal tract is dangerous
because it leads to the accumulation of harmful bacteria and
toxins. The longer these toxins remain in your system, the
more severe the consequences to your health.
A colon cleanser is
a product designed to dissolve and remove the compacted waste
that has collected along the walls of colon, large intestines,
and even small intestines. In many cases, people over forty can
have anywhere from 15-25 pounds of compacted waste in the colon
and gastrointestinal tract! Ever wonder why it has always been
so hard to lose those last few pounds??
To help cleanse the gastrointestinal
tract and give your bowels a fresh start, you may want to schedule
a colonic irrigation procedure. Although somewhat invasive and
costly, this constipation remedy of last resort will remove any
blockage along with any concentrated waste clinging to the walls
of the colon. The good news is that a good bowel cleanser will
also clear out the colon and help a constipation diet be more
effective.
Fortunately, a colon cleanser helps prevent future
constipation problems and is less expensive and not the slightest
bit invasive like the colon irrigation procedure. Any constipation
remedy, including colon cleansers, should be made from all natural
products because anything made with chemicals is more likely to
cause side effects. Remember, even when a blocked bowel and constipation
problems are not directly related, a clean gastrointestinal tract
makes it far easier to prevent fecal impactions from ever being
an issue again.
