An Oxygen Based Colon Cleanse May Be Able to Lessen Some IBS Symptoms

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

If you’re already on anti-spasmodic, discuss your options to cleanse colon waste out with your medical practitioner. Not all colon cleanses work well with all medications. Some can lessen the impact of your anti-spasmodic or there could even be interactions between the two. It’s best to make sure you and the doctor are on the same page to reduce the chances of this happening.

Another thing you may want to consider with a colon cleanse, is one that has additional healing effects. Many colon cleanses do more than just cleanse colon waste out of the system, some of them have a byproduct of oxygen. This will give an infusion of oxygen to your system, through your digestive tract. Oxygen is known as a great healer and this burst of oxygen may also be able to lessen some of your irritable bowel syndrome symptoms and make you feel better and more energetic.

Constipation and Hemorrhoids – An Extremely Painful Combination

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

What is the connection between constipation and hemorrhoids? Well, most people with constipation experience having hemorrhoids at one point in their constipation episode.

There are generally two types of hemorrhoids both associated with constipation: internal and external hemorrhoids. For these two types of hemorrhoids, the most common cause is intense and extreme straining during bowel movements.

External hemorrhoids are actually swollen, tender and aching veins located in the lower regions of your anus or rectum. In most cases, bleeding in the rectal area will follow which you can detect in your stools. In this case, your stools will be specked with bright red blood.

Internal hemorrhoids on the other hand are hemorrhoids that occur inside the anus that cannot be seen readily. In some cases, a tiny amount of intestinal lining pushes out from the anal opening; this is called a rectal prolapse. When this happens and become aggravated, surgery may be performed to repair the intestinal lining that seeped out and to tauten the anal sphincter muscle.
