You May Be Causing Your Own Constipation
When it comes to health ailments like constipation, we often find ourselves asking the question "Why me? Why can't I find constipation relief?" Perhaps the question you should be asking yourself is "Is it my fault that I am constipated?"
Believe it or not, more often than not the answer to that question may be yes, it is your fault. According to the U.S. National Digestive Diseases Information Clearinghouse, there are a number of things you may be doing that are causing yourself to need constipation relief. They have released a set of risk factors that you should consider. They include:
Why do you think they have those fiber supplements out there?, because a lack of fiber is a pretty common cause of constipation. You need to make sure your body has enough fiber to keep things moving smoothly. We need to eat more fresh vegetables and fruits with our meals. Whole grains, vegetables, and fruits provide fiber which is necessary for colon health. You also want to make sure you are drinking enough water, as it is another of those constipation remedies.
Ignoring the Call
Some people put off going to the bathroom until a convenient time. Perhaps you are trying to get your body on a regular schedule to go, so you are not running at all hours of the day. Well, this can lead to an upset system or hardening stool that can become a bowel obstruction and you may become constipated.
What they mean by this is changes in the way you usually do things. Changing any of the normal way you do things abruptly can confuse your body and cause it to become constipated. For example, if you are to suddenly change your diet, whether for the better or worse, it could lead to constipation. Even if you change your exercise regimen or are traveling more than usual, these things can lead to a bout of constipation.
Are you under a lot of stress? Your body may show it by becoming constipated. Talk about your frustrating constipation causes. If you are feeling more stressed lately, you may want to try and come up with some relaxation techniques to help you get through it.
