Constipation Relief – Holiday Overeating
It's quickly becoming that time of year again.
The holidays are just around the corner and that means a lot
of time with family, friends and definitely a lot of food.
This is the time of year when most people have
a major struggle with their weight. They can't help it. Everywhere
they turn there are tasty foods waiting that people have cooked
and brought in to celebrate a festive time. But its not just
your waistline that may be impacted by all the overeating that
is done around the holidays. Have you considered your digestive
system?
If you think about it, this is likely the time
of year when you are more in the market for constipation relief
than any other time. Have you ever considered why this is? Well
in this article we are going to take a look at what you are
doing that is causing your system to back up and leave you looking
for constipation relief.
Think of a normal day right now. How much do you
eat? If you are like most people you have a small breakfast,
a sensible lunch and dinner and that's about it. There may be
a little snack here or there, but nothing too major. Then comes
the holidays.
Instead of eating those same three smaller meals and a few snacks
we are eating much bigger meals. It seems when we go to a friend's
house, or go out with visiting family members we eat much more
than we would the rest of the time. This is really putting a
taxing toll on your body and leading to your need for constipation
relief.
You see, when you eat food, your body has a long
process to send it through. It of course goes into your stomach
then through two levels of intestines before ending up in your
colon where it can finally be removed from the body.
Usually when you eat a normal meal your body packages
all this food in little packets and moves it through the system.
But, when you start putting bigger and more frequent meals in
there, your body may not be sure what to do with it. It may
be overwhelmed with the amount of food coming in and try to
push it through more quickly. This can lead to too much going
through at once, it not breaking down as thoroughly as you may
like, and eventually a backup that has you searching for constipation
relief.
Instead try to be a little more careful this holiday
season and not gorge yourself quite as much. The more careful
you are about what you eat, the less likely you are to have
to deal with needing constipation relief.
