Constipation Relief – Foods That Make
Constipation Worse
If you are one of those people that are regularly
suffering from a need for constipation relief, you may think
that it is just your lot in life to have this struggle and there
is nothing that you can do about it other than to try out a
number of different constipation relief options.
This is not true. In addition to looking for constipation
relief remedies, you can also work to help your body be less
likely to develop constipation in the first place. This has
to do with the foods you eat. There are a lot of foods that
are good for your digestive health and there are plenty more
that are very bad for your digestive health. We're going to
take a look at the bad ones here and why you may want to avoid
them.
White Breads – While you may love your bagel
for breakfast or daily sandwiches on white bread, it may be
time to make a little switch to the diet that you are ingesting.
The simple truth is that the white flour that is used in things
like bagels, pizza dough, doughnuts, pancakes, and other white
bread items are not digestively friendly. They are starches
with no fiber. That means they can essentially become like paste
in your digestive tract, sticking to the walls of your intestines
and causing more of your constipation issues. You need to be
purchasing whole grain breads instead as they have that fiber
your body needs to aid in digestion.
White Rice and Rice Noodles – In much the
same way that white bread is not so good for you, neither is
white rice. Again, it's the refining process that has taken
all of that good fiber out of the rice and left you with just
a starchy mess that is waiting to block things up and have you
once again needing constipation relief. Try keeping your eyes
open for more natural rice or even other alternatives like Quinoa.
Semolina Pasta – Here again we have the same issue. Semolina
pasta while tasty is also digestively a mess that can leave
you wanting constipation relief. It has had any good features
pulled out of it in the refinement process and you are left
with more starch. Instead you want to look for whole grain pastas
that are still full of fiber.
White Potatoes – You know those French fries
you love? Time to pass them by. Anything made from white potatoes
is once again just starch and nothing useful. Instead, try sweet
potatoes, which are much better for you and can even make great
fries.
